Geocache Description:

At the coordinates you will come across a monument to Mrs William Napper who was the First White Woman to live in the Barmera District. She was the wife of William Napper who in 1863 built an accommodation hotel and storeroom, the house was an important stopping place on the overland stock route. He also established a orchard of vines and fruits in which he used a steam engine to pump water, thus became the first irrigator in the Upper Murray Region.

If you visit the cache Go'n'do - Napper's Ruins you will see what remains of the what at the time was called the “Lake Bonney Hotel” which is the hotel that William Napper had.
