2015 Post BATB CITO - Greetings from Chequamegon Bay and communities of Ashland and Washburn, WI, the sites of the Book Across the Bay, Ski and Snowshoe Event. Cache In/Trash Out the day after Book Across the Bay, Sunday morning, 9:00 am, February 15, 2015, near the finish at Thompson’s West End Park in Washburn WI. We’ll park and meet at the “BIG Fish” plaque where there will be plenty of parking and not in the way of other post-race workers. Afterwards we will go to a local establishment for refreshments, late breakfast, etc.

From the website www.bathb.org - Winter in northern Wisconsin is long, dark and cold. Come late February, those residents of the Chequamegon Bay region who haven't gone off to find sun and sanity somewhere down south can get a little stir crazy. Around the holiday season in 1996, a group of people got together to talk about how to make the winter a little more bearable by giving ourselves and our neighbors something to look forward to in our own backyards. Members of that group also were active in the Tri-County Medical Society and the Friends of the Washburn Public Library, and were looking for a way to benefit those organizations.
Do you ever wonder who picks up items skiers/snowshoers may leave behind near or at the finish area??? We will cruise the park, parking areas, side streets by car to cover the most ground to pick up items. This worked very well last year. Bags and gloves will be provided. Do dress for the weather.
Please join the fun of the Cache In/Trash Out and we’ll meet at the “Big Fish” parking area to organize ourselves for a one-hour event of helping gather up those left-behind items. After signing the Log for Attendees, there will be a drawing for FTF honors. Thanks for your help!
