Fairly easy cache in residential area.

I was surprised to find there are very few caches in this area. Hidden on the property (with permission) of a residence and the cache is attainable from the adjacent alley/driveway. You do not need to go onto the actual property to access it.

This cottage was originally built in 1920 by Charlie Chaplin and was the male residence for the actors when shooting at Chaplin/UA. John Barrymore, Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks, Rudolph Valentino all lived here at some point. Even Drew Barrymore lived here in her pre-ET days.

Please be respectful of the current and past residents.

Have fun and good luck.

I noticed that this cache has been temporarily disabled for a period of time well in excess of the period of "a few weeks" as contemplated by the cache guidelines published on Geocaching.com. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other caches from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it (using the archive listing link in the upper right) so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location.

If you plan on repairing this cache, please log a note to the cache (not email) so I don't archive the listing for non-communication.

Due to some construction the cache has been muggled, but will be replaced shortly.

Found the property, which is really wonderful, but got busted before I could find the cache. Walked down the alley as instructed, but when I got to the spot that I would have guessed the cache to be, a cat in a window across the alley spotted me and wouldn't stop meowing... loudly. I heard a resident ask the cat what was the matter, and decided to leave empty handed. I'll come back to this one again.
