Located near the Pine Grove Cemetery. Over 7000Ft altitude. Two wheel drive gets within one mile.
We have been coming to this area for about 25 years and still enjoy it. It's an easy drive to Pine Grove from Yerington Nev. Take East Walker Rd. AKA (Pine Grove Rd.) south from the 90-degree bend of Hwy 208. In about 11 miles you will come to National Forest Rd. 059 take it west about 8 miles to Pine Grove. There are many other ways to get to Pine Grove but they require 4-wheel drive. If you have 4 wheel drive turn north from Pine Grove up the hill to the cemetery. If you don't you will have about a mile hike up the hill to the cemetery. There is a small parking area at the cemetery about 150 ft. north of the cache. The attitude is over 7000 ft. so snow is to be expected in the winter. The cache is a ammo can. This small cemetery has graves dating from the mid 1860's and is worth the trip alone. However, the town of Pine Grove has some buildings still standing and worth seeing. There is a plaque in Pine Grove that describes the town and a map with the history of the area in the cache. Please leave it for others. Please be sure and hide the cache as you found it to prevent Muggles!

A late in the summer dune buggy ride took us back to Pine Grove. This has been a favorite ride of ours and interesting. This time there was a cache. Thanks for the history in the cache.
