On a hot day in August, Wisconsin hosted a kid’s run to benefit Autism Awareness. There were 9 racers each wearing different colored jerseys to represent different colored puzzle pieces. The ages of these children ranged from 2 to 9 years old. There were two 2-year olds, one 4-year old, one 5-year old, one 6-year old, two 7-year olds, one 8-year old and one 9-year old. To solve this puzzle, you must find out what order the runners placed in, their jersey colors, and their ages.
1. Molly’s favorite color is red, but it wasn’t lucky, because she placed in last place.
2. The person with the green jersey placed 2nd
3. The two 2-year olds were both girls.
4. Micah did not place last, but he finished after Matthew, Morgan and Megan.
5. Michael was the oldest runner.
6. Margaret’s lucky color is black, and it worked, because she finished in 1st place.
7. The 9-year old finished in 8th place.
8. One of the boys wore a turquoise jersey and placed in 5th
9. Megan is older than Margaret and Mary.
10. Both Morgan and Matthew are 7-years old.
11. The boy in the pink shirt was 8 years old.
12.The 6 year old wore purple, and the 4 year old wore white.
13. Michelle finished before Megan, but after Mary.
14. Mary is older than Molly, but younger than Margaret
15. The first place runner was 5 years old.
16. Michelle wore a blue jersey and placed in 4th.
17. Megan placed in front of Micah but behind Mary.
