La Charrette, the smallest cinema in Wales!
La Charrette (French for The Carriage) was built from a disused railway carriage By Gwyn Philips from Gorseinon. He built it in his back garden and held screenings of films for friends and family.
After his death in 1996 the carriage fell into disrepair and closed finally in February 2008. It was given a unique send off with the premier screening of a previously unseen Danny Boyle film and was attended by Kenneth Branagh.
The carriage was then taken to pieces and moved to its present location. It was reassembled and fully restored and continues to show films for an audiance of no more than 23 people.
