White Heugh is the name of the promontory which you'll pass on the way to this cache. The cliff face of this promontory is coloured white, but these are no girlie chalk cliffs. This promontory is made of stouter stuff, Andesite and Basalt lavas. The cliffs are painted white at the start of the tourist season by the locals. Well actually it's Guano the accumulated excrement of seabirds. If you are unlucky, they may paint you white too.
The starting points I recommend for attempting this cache are the car parks at either St Abbs Harbour or the nature reserve visitors centre at Northfield. Once the car is secure take the coastal path north along the cliff tops, this route offers spectacular views of the village of St Abbs and the coast to the south.
When you leave the cache please make sure it is concealed below the stones.
Take care on this walk at the path is along the cliff tops.
