This is the second in our small series of snowshoe accessible
caches. If you choose to snowshoe, please note that for much of
the way you will be on trails set for x-country skiing, so
appropriate trail etiquette is to stay to the side of the trail to
avoid destroying the track sets. Depending on the season, you
can hike, bike, snowshoe or x-country ski via the multi-use trails
northwest of Kananaskis Village.
There are quite a few intersecting trails in this area. There is
good signage, including a map with a “you are here” marker at most
trail intersections. If you don’t have a trail map of the area,
consult the signage at the Ribbon Creek parking lot or at the
trailhead near Woody’s Pub at Kananaskis Village. Plan a route
which will take you to the viewpoint on Kovach trail. On our return
trip to Kananaskis Village we managed to find GCH4CR “Kovach Link”
by Cymbc and Judy of star wars fame, so depending on your route,
you might try for that one too.
This is a popular destination for guests staying at the Delta
Lodge at Kananaskis, so PLEASE REHIDE CAREFULLY to prevent muggles
from spotting the geocache from the trail.
