This is Chief Logan's Challenge acept it if you dare
Chief logan has decided to keep all intruders away from his
treasure so you must prove yourself worthy to be in his tribe
so in order for the chief to let you log this cache you must take
his test and become a member of his tribe! to become a member of
the chief tribe you must prove you can handle yourself in the
forest by finding all the caches in chief logan park(you do not
have to finde the 2 park and grabs on the convention center side
because they are not considered park caches) when you have found
all these caches you can Log the cache but you must put the names
of the caches and the date you found them in your log. While doing
this cache you can enjoy a 5 to 5 1/2 mile roundtrip hike where you
will rise over 600 feet in elevation from start t0 finish the first
.4 of the hike will be the hardest part.I hope you enjoy the chiefs
challege please bring plenty of water and try to not leave a geo
trail off the main trail but you will not need to follow the arrow
cache is less than 100ft off the trail so stay on the trail The
chief will delete all logs that have not completed his task.

July 7, 2009 by PilotJ (1399 found) Didn't have a clue what we were in for when WVAngler called and wanted to make a run for a couple FTF s in southern WV. But always being game and having a mostly free schedule we signed on even though we likely would be losing out on 6 FTF in another direction. Who can pass up caching with the WVAngler? Then an extra bonus, WVHunter74 came out to hike too. Angler was a sport and came along for the hunt for the 2 he had already done, hey, he could have napped in the car! And WVhunter74, what a trouper, he hiked the whole day and didn't get a single smiley. Don't think the only Challenge with this cache is getting the prerequisite caches. The hike is a challenge too, the UP for the Crew and the DOWN for the Pilot with the wounded landing gear. Lots of water is needed as the UP is quite serious UP and the DOWN is, well, the opposite of the UP. Hiking pole came in handy for sure. Saw some interesting sights along the way while we took panting breaks. As a grand finale for the day, this one really made you feel like you earned all 8 stars and had accomplished something. We were successful with the quest for the co- FTF with WVAngler and were rewarded with a unique coin. Found the 7 Chief Logan caches and this final on 7/7/09 for a hike of 10 miles with lots of UP.GC1BAAA Birds of a Feather GC1CHHB WVHunter74's Guarded Secret #6 Gone Turkey GC1CAW7 Wild Turkeys Among Us GC1CJFQ Mom's on the Run GC1CN10 SAR DAWG #1 GCM749 Chief Logan's Stash GC1467 Collaba-Cache

July 7, 2009 by WVangler (1199 found) Co-FTF!!! This was one AWESOME cache journey! I don't know that I would recommend our path to many people, but we did every cache in the park in one day. It was quite a journey. According to my track log we hiked about 14 miles today just to get this cache (and the others that went with it). I summoned the great PilotJ and Crew to come along before Pilot left for vacation, then contacted WVHunter74 who agreed to come along to watch. FTF prize was really cool! Thanks for a very memorable cache experience. This one makes my 'favorite WV finds' bookmark list.
