Geocache Description:

My pet name for my granddaughter is Water Lily. The original cache I had named for her had to be removed because of hornets making a nest at its site. So this cache is a new one for her.

You can reach this cache by taking the Smithbrook Rd. off of Stevens Pass, or by the Rainy Creek Rd. from above Lake Wenatchee. Either way the road is a wide dirt road in good condition. Any car should be able to make this drive. The cache is located at the top of the pass overlooking a beautiful pond full of yellow waterlilies.

The pond is a delight to the children for caching frogs, tadpoles, newts and other wildlife.

If you go out on the rock and look through the trees the other direction you can see the Steven Pass Highway in the distance nearing the summit.

A sheepherder lives near by with his many dogs watching over a large herd of sheep which can be mistaken for big white rocks on the slope if you aren’t looking closely. This is at the summit on the Lake Wenatchee side of the pass. So drive carefully.

If you have the time to go for a hike there are some wonderful trails along this road. ie: Smithbrook Trail(in which you need a pass to park at the access point), the trail to Heather Lake, and the Rainy Creek Trail.

Have fun and enjoy God’s wonderful nature but be careful as it is extremely dry this year.
