Located in Leeds, Maine, the Monument Hill cache is located near
the Civil War monument on its summit. Parking for the trail is on
the North Rd. in Leeds where there is a "Monument Hill Trail" sign.
There are two trails that converge on the top, the quickest being
the trail to the right.
The cache is a camouflaged container located not too far from the
summit under a rock in the stone wall. The real treat of the cache
is the spectacular view of the Western Maine mountains and
Presidential Range of NH. If you find the stone wall south of the
monument, it's not hard to find. I've noted a lot of different
coordinates posted in the logs. Please note what your final find
read is in the logs. My iPhone gave me coordinates that don't come
close to the log reports or my original 2001 reading.
