Introduction:
This cache is a box full of books. You are invited to take a
book and left another one. Also, the objectif of this cache is to
invite you to a nice hike in the Montachique
hills.
The hunt
Go to Montachique village by the A8 highway. Follow the
waypoints passing by the villages; Cabeço de Montachique,
Tocadelos and Salemas. Park your cachemobil at
the proposed coordinates Park 1 or Park 2 (depending on your
cachemobil). Visit the cave Gruta das Salemas (don't
forget a lamp). This cave is referred, in this
webpage, as a place where vestiges of the Neanderthal
Age were found. It has about 30 m and is safe to explore. Then
walk to the cache place following the reference points in the file.
The final part is tuff, an inclined ascent. From
RefPoint4 to the cache, only Geocachers phisically
skilled can do it. Also, MTB/4WD vehicles can't go further. The
area is full of aggressive shrubs. Wear mountain shoes and clothes
that protects your legs and arms. Take water with you too.

circuit I suggest to hunt this cache and enjoy the area of
Cabeço de Montachique (If you need, get a copy of it. It's free).
There's a pic-nic area in this Municipal
Park.
I choosed the place based on a nice hiking book called
Portugal Pé ante Pé, Livros Forum Ambiente,
Bertrand Editora.
