Geocache Description:

CAUTION: There is a ground depression just before GZ if approaching from the gravel road. It was water filled (a few inches) when I hid the cache. Logs indicate that when the water recedes what can be left behind is leaf covered muck (that can appear dry). Walking over that area might sink you through the leaves into the hidden muck. If you don't want yucky muddy shoes you are advised to watch your step.

Hidden in State Game Land #43. Practically a Cache and Dash for a .50 cal. Ammo Can. I seriously doubt that you can remove the Cache from it's VERY SNUG place of concealment. It can be opened in place! Just reach for it. The Cache is sitting on ground level.

Located very near a boundary line of the Game Land You can see the home of a neighboring land owner through the trees. This puts the Cache right on the fringe of a posted SAFETY ZONE (unlawful to discharge weapons in a Safety Zone). But never forget these are hunting grounds. At least wear bright colors in the Safety Zone, and if you venture farther into the Game Land, be sure to wear Blaze Orange.

Total ROUND TRIP hiking time should be about 5 minutes. [4/29/07 Note]: Noticed this morning that a few dozen small diameter trees have been cut down in this area since my last visit. Not too bad but it does bump up the terrain about a quarter star.

N 40° 10.380' W 75° 47.700' is the most convenient parking spot. There is also parking a little farther up the hill at N 40° 10.488' W 75° 47.867' but that is the public Shooting Range. From the lower lot you won't see them, but you will hear them.

Seekers are expressing concern about hearing gun shots at the shooting range, and not knowing which direction the bullets are flying. The range is about a quarter mile farther up the hill on the opposite side of the road from the cache. The shooters are firing with their backs to the road. Nothing is ever aimed down the hill, up the hill, or across the road.

This Game Land is kind of special to me. I found my first two Caches here. Started looking for the "Elverson Cache" on Thursday, and didn't find it till Saturday. Came back again later for "And The Beat Goes On" which was the first one of my finds to ever be archived. Got my first FTF here in a Thunder and Rain Storm at "Thomas Hill Cache".
