Geocache Description:

Current Status as of July 20, 2016:

PLEASE REFER TO THE LATEST LOGS BELOW TO CONFIRM WHETHER THIS MOVING CACHE IS IN TRANSIT, OR HIDDEN.

Update as of Jan 10, 2013:

The cache continues to be a favourite of Fraser Valley cachers. I have no idea how many cachers there are anymore. I got into this racket before the advent of smart phones, twitter and facebook. Kinda weird being an early adopter of GPS for hobby use, and shunning all the new technology that has followed since, but alas... I still enjoy reading the logs on the caches I have not yet archived. I think I own an old Magellan MAP 330 still, but it's the one not working too well... so I am reluctant to even go out and look for this cache when I see it nearby. Mostly, I collect guitars these days. I've got a pretty nifty Moun10bike series 2 geocoin to trade for an old Hagstrom guitar if anyone has one.... send me an e-mail. Thanks to everyone who is keeping this cache moving and making it available for more finders! Please note that this cache is unavailable for adoption, due to it's grand-fathered state, as in, moving caches are no longer permitted

Additional Updated Cache Guidelines as of May 2011:

1) This cache should not be 'discovered' or otherwise 'found' at caching events. Please do not bring the cache to an event. The cache should be found as it was hidden by the last hider. If you do not wish to move the cache when you find it, that's okay... just be clear about this when you log your find.

Updated Cache Guidelines as of Oct 14, 2007:

1) The cache may only be found by the same cacher after it has been rehidden by FIVE different cachers, or after FORTY-FIVE days, whichever comes first.

2) If you hide the cache in a new location after finding it, and it is not found by another cacher within 45 days of the cache page having been updated, it is expected that you will retrieve and rehide the cache in a SUBURBAN location with a difficulty/terrain rating of no greater than 2/2. Please contact canadazuuk if you have any questions.

Fraser Valley Regional Transport is a traveling cache.

Once found, the cache finder is requested to transport the entire cache and re-hide it in a new location.

This cache must remain within the boundaries of the Fraser Valley Regional District, which begin at 276th street in Abbotsford, and include Mission, Chilliwack, Deroche, Agassiz, Harrison, Hope, Sunshine Valley, Yale, Boston Bar and a huge network of logging roads within the electoral areas on the outskirts. (Sorry! Aldergrove, Langley, and Maple Ridge etc. are within the GVRD.)

You may view the FVRD website here. There is a large area to choose from when hiding this cache.

Special thanks to MrGigabyte for the inspiration to release FVRT. Our sister cache, Vancouver Transit (VT), was retired on Aug 31, 2004 after three years of travelling around the GVRD. Check out Pharmadude's Vancouver Transit Memorial Project for more information on how you may revisit some of the places it stopped at.

Fraser Valley Regional Transport will always be one of the following: ‘Hidden’ or ‘In Transit’. Please check this page in advance of seeking the cache to confirm the current status and whereabouts. You may need to review the last few logs posted on the cache page to confirm the current status, as sometimes the cache can be found or hidden, but not yet updated!!

Fraser Valley Regional Transport can be found over and over by the same cachers as it will always be in a new location.

The cache is a Lock & Lock storage container.

Please log the cache as 'found' on this page immediately upon finding the cache. DO NOT wait until you re-hide it.

Re-hide the cache as soon as possible after you find it. Post a note on this page stating the new coordinates, the date re-hidden the new difficulty ranking, and include any comments or hints that may be required for the new location. p>

NOTE: When you move and rehide this cache, you are responsible for maintaining it until it is found by another cacher.

If this cache gets plundered or stolen, then the last hider MUST REPLACE IT with a new cache, at or near the same location. If you are not prepared to do this, then please do not participate in this cache hunt.

If you have found Fraser Valley Regional Transport before, you are welcome to search for it again after it is re-hidden. We ask that you only find it once during a 45 day period, or after it has been hidden by FIVE other cachers, whichever comes first. Essentially, if it is in a new location, it is a new cache, and it is considered a new find for you.

One final note: Due to the nature of 'puzzle caches', please do not use a 'puzzle' format when hiding this cache. Your posted coordinates should be for the final location of the cache, except where a simple paced off distance using a compass bearing will lead someone to the cache. Please use this format only when satellite reception at the final location is inadequate.
