Mini Park Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Ngaambul: As there's been either no response from the cache owner, no cache to find or log to sign, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the near future (next 30 days), just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

A simple cache in a tiny park in the suburbs

Allan Sheppard Reserve is a park that is one house block on a normal suburban street in Thornbury. It was named after Allan Sheppard, who was a Northcote Councillor 1955-63 and Northcote Mayor between 1955-56. During the time Allan was on the council, a lot change happened in the Northcote area:
  • Electric trams were installed in High Street replacing the double decker buses that were running
  • Local politics reflecting changes in the demographics of the area with increased representation by ethnic candidates
  • the introduction of color TV with the Olympic games saw many of the movie theatres in the area close.
Towards the end of Allan Sheppard's tenure as a council, Northcote council was merged with Alphington and Fairfield.

the Cache A hide that may not be immediately obvious, but should remain nice and dry, if not bug and slug free.

Logging Etiquette: Geocache hiders sometimes go through a great deal of planning to place their caches. As a result, they'd like to hear your feedback on whether you liked or disliked any aspect of the hide, or if you feel that some cache maintenance is required. Single word, acronym, or emoticon logs may be easier when you have a lot of caches to log, but it doesn't tell the hider or other finders anything about your adventure (or lack thereof) in finding the cache. Please keep this in mind when entering your log.
