Geocache Description:

Here is my first attempt at listing a Letterbox Hybrid.
It’s a regular container just off a trail that is maintained by the Millstone Trails Asso.
Round trip is about 1 mile on rolling Mt bike trails.
I have placed it for the Barre Homecoming days celebration on Sunday the 27th. It will allow folks without GPSers to do some treasure hunting. Because it is a hybrid you can find this cache using a GPS, But it may be more fun the Letter Box way. Why not try it without the GPS?

Letter Boxing is similar to Geocaching in the sense that you find hidden containers. The difference is letterboxing does not use a GPSr, instead one would use clues, directions, and an occasional compass to find the cache.
The finder uses a personal rubber stamp to log his/her visit. There is also a stamp inside the cache that stays in the cache for other letterboxers to use for their own personal stamp collection.
Here are the directions:
Go to the Recreation Facility Shelter behind the Barretown Elementary School on the Websterville Road in Barretown, VT. Parking and restrooms are available here until winter.
From the Barretown Recreation Facility shelter, walk to the bike path just beyond the outhouses.
Go NE on the bike path until you see a black chain-link fence on your left.
Count the fence post of this chain link and turn right at the 9th post onto the Nature Trail (there will be a sign for each trail).
Follow the Nature trail SW for about 150 feet and turn left onto the Beaver Pond trail.
Go down the hill and thru an offset 4 way intersections. Continue on Beaver Pond trail across the rickety little bridge over the stream and continue on the trail about 280 yards, to a marked jct of Abbot Run (also marked Touring center). Turn left and follow Abbots Run NE for about 400 yards until it meets with the old railroad with 4 rails. Once at the 4 rails follow the track S until 4 track become 2. The letterbox will be very closeby.

*****Please do not take the stamp or ink pad*****
Good luck!
