How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

What malady ails you? Can't deal with your problems? Well the Doctor is in! This series is a 10km walk around Burnaby Lake. The cure? Well some fresh air and good laugh!

Note that bicycles are not allowed in the park, you'll have to huff it. All caches are recycled psychotropic drug containers returned to the Dr. from his patients. Log sheets and pencils within, but bring your own writing instrument in case the pencils have written a few too many prescriptions.

Please replace cache in a similar manner to which you have found it as in some areas the spots are very visible to the non afflicted.

Disease: Blitzapia Nervosa
Description: Stress induced by the pressure of creating the perfect Blitz Cache.

This cache was used for voting on the entire Cache Shrink Series.

Voting is closed, so if you want to vote for this cache, well you're out of luck! Does that upset you? Who was your father’s or mother’s favourite (among the children)? What kind of upbringing did you have? What are your earliest childhood recollections? What is your attitude toward the opposite sex? What occupation would have interested you the most, and if you did not adopt it, why not? What sort of persons are around you at present? Are they impatient, bad-tempered, or affectionate? How do you sleep? What dreams do you have?

About the series "Cache Shrink"

After a great experience with a Power Trail, we wanted to give local geocachers a small taste, but with a twist!

This series of caches is for the most part, all walking. Your choice, walk around the park, walk in and out sections, or maybe leave a car in one lot, drive around to the next and leap frog the sections. You will see the entire park. Only a handful of these caches are within reach of a road.

All the caches are placed with the environment in mind.

  • Every cache is reachable from within one step of the trail, pedestrian , grassy or field area, most are right on the trail.
  • Special containers were constructed to keep the caches off the wet ground, and from moving around. They are all the same, except 1 magnetic key holder.
  • Every cache has a detailed, exactly where to find it hint, no thrashing required.

You will see wetlands, forest, maybe model airplanes and views of the lake. Take time to read the various plaques and kiosks you encounter on your journey.

Please read the cache pages, and enjoy the little fun we had mocking our sport, and even some of our friends, heck even ourselves! Do you know somebody as described? Is that you?

The reward you get for these cahes, is an increase in your find count, there are no FTF prizes, first to complete series prizes etc. Enjoy!

This series was the winner of the BC Geocaching Associations Blitz 2010 "Best Series" Category
