This is the center of the expansive residence of the Satsuma clan. If you take a close look the Drawing, you can see how the room was laid out, and also where the storage house, stable, the pond in the garden, a bridge over the pond, and the Noh stage used to be. During the time between the overthrow of the shogunate and the Meiji Restoration, the site served as an arena for many historical events.
The skyscraper has been built in surroundings. Please let me work the intuition of Geocacher.

芝さつまの道
この場所は、広大な薩摩藩の上屋敷のほぼ中央部に位置します。見取り図を詳しくご覧になれば屋敷内の部屋割りや蔵、馬屋、庭園の池、池に架かる橋、能舞台などがあった様子が見て取れます。
倒幕から明治維新を迎える時代の流れの中で、歴史の大舞台となった場所でもありました。
