Geocache Description:

Multiple approaches, some more steep than others, over well-developed trails. Cache altitude is at 1000 feet.

The Royal Rangers motto is "Ready!" Outpost 89 is ready for geocaching! Anyway, this is our first cache, and we planted it as part of a 6.4 mile hike around the park.

There are multiple ways to approach the cache site, from multiple park entrances. Much of the journey can be taken using the great trails in this park. There probably isn't a "best" approach. The cache is reasonably well hidden, but the general location is fairly obvious as you get close.

We tried to select a cache site that is free of Poison Oak, but there is a lot of it in this park. There is other vegetation around the cache site, but we couldn't identify any Poison Oak in it.

Some of the items in this cache were selected by the 2 Commanders who went on the hike, but most of the items were chosen by the 8 to 12 year-old boys that were on the hike. So, the cache contents are an eclectic mix of Royal Rangers memorabilia and items that would interest boys in this age group.

We had lots of fun planting this cache on our outing. Hopefully you'll enjoy finding it!
