How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Difficulty due to many people near GZ! You are looking for a Ziploc container… Beware of the Muggles as they abound everywhere here, coming from every direction both on foot and in cars. The Park District knows of this hide, so you do not have to worry about breaking any laws or rules except trying to get the cache after dark!! The terrain is easy to walk as it is a parking lot and sidewalk, just keep an eye out for cars! All parks close after dark!

#4 of 11 PLEASE FOLLOW THE SERIES IN ORDER 1 - 11!

LEARN ABOUT LOCAL HISTORY WHILE GEOCACHING!!! This is the Raupp Museum’s first ever Geocaching Series!!! This is a cache series that will lead the Geocacher around town highlighting our local park history. Some of these sites may go unnoticed to the average person until they have been made aware of them. To commemorate this series 200 geocoins have been created.

You must complete the all of the sites within the series (#1 through #11) in order to follow the series properly. Do not forget to log your finds! Remember, my goal is to have Geocachers learn a little about our town’s history.

The first to find all of the caches will receive a prize inside of cache #11, a FREE Buffalo Grove history geocoin! Only 200 have been made and will not be reissued after they are gone…

This building was the first modern school development in Buffalo Grove in over 20 years. Also the Park is named after the author Louisa May Alcott. This building is no longer used as a school, it is now the site of the Buffalo Grove Park Districts main headquarters.

Do not worry about this location, the park staff know that people are Geocaching in this area.

Do not forget to post photos of your adventure!

Congrats to scottberks for being the first to find!
