Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the San Bernardino Mountains south of Big Bear Lake. It requires some off pavement travel.

The cache container is a one-gallon plastic peanut jar painted brown. It is chuck full of all kinds of good geocaching treasures.

*** Caution --- Watch your footprints as you enter the cache area. Erase any marks you may make. ***

The hard part of this cache is finding the right road to use to get to “Grand Pa’s Lap”. For this I leave you on your own. You will be traveling off pavement in an area that takes 4X4, a motorcycle, a bicycle, or on foot.

The area you will be traveling into is the high desert with pine trees, pinion pine, some Joshua trees and old mining sites. It can be quite hot in summer. There are plenty of great sights to see along the way.

Please follow the safety rules for this type of travel. 1). Take plenty of water. 2) Travel with a buddy. 3) Tell people where you are going and stick to your travel plan. 4) Take a compass and a good map of the area . 5) Use common sense.
