How Geocaching Works
A short walk thru the desert. Be careful of sticker-bushes and the wildlife and as always bring water on hot days.
This story all started in this location 1886. This was the site of William and Martha's ranch, the "Triple Bar-C Ranch". Regretfully, Martha passed away shortly after giving birth to their twin sons, William Jr. and George.
From early on William Sr. taught the boys to tend the livestock and manage the ranch. William Jr. liked helping out on the ranch, but his brother George liked learning from textbooks. It seemed that manual labor just wasn't for him. In 1902, George went back East to begin college.
In 1903, Senior turned over the ranch to William Jr. William Jr. expanded the borders of the Triple Bar-C Ranch for miles in each direction. This enabled William Jr. to purchase more cattle and horses. In late August of 1906, Senior became ill and passed away in September.
William Jr. urgently sent a telegram to contact his twin brother with the bad news. The telegram read:
Father has passed away(stop) Please come home(stop)
George the left his studies back East to comfort his brother and to clean up the family affairs.
As soon as George arrived at the Triple Bar-C Ranch, they read Senior's "Last Will and Testament". Much to William Jr.'s suprise (and George's too), his father left EVERYTHING to George...the land, the ranchhouse, the livestock....EVERYTHING. George told William Jr. that he was going to run the ranch from here on out, just as his father had wished.
This infuriated William Jr. He had assumed that he would inherit the ranch since he worked there tirelessly for years. The boys didn't speak to each other for weeks. One November day there was a huge fight between the brothers.
There was shouting, arguing, and loud noises that came from the ranch that night. Some people think that George turned his property rights over to his brother, and went back East to finish school, but there are no records of him ever entering back into college. Some people think George went North to start a family. Others think there was foul play. One thing was sure, that no one had really heard from George since.
Was there foul play? No one knows for sure.....
Please place cache back exactly as you found it....Thanks Part of the cache is on the ground...please leave as it is....it attracts too much attention.
