Geocache Description:

The above coordinates are not those of the cache. They are the starting point for an evening walk to a night cache. Park in the lot immediately south of the coordinates.

This cache can only be hunted in the dark hours until 10pm, when Springbrook Park closes, or during winter in the dark hours beginning at 6am when it opens. To find this cache, you will need a flashlight, not a GPSr. At the starting coordinates, face east along the gravel trail. Hold your flashlight right next to your eyes and point it forward. Look for the first orange reflector in a tree and walk down the trail in its direction. As you near it, look for the next reflector. Continue in this way until you reach the cache location, marked with several reflectors. The cache is a 30-caliber green ammo can. It used to be located directly behind the snag with reflectors, but now sits five feet to the northwest beneath a pile of bark. You need not step off the trail until you reach the cache.

To return, turn around and follow the trail of white reflectors back to the starting point. The trip back is shorter than the trip out.

Your flashlight must be at least as bright as a standard grocery-store light that uses two D battery cells. (A mini-mag light won't cut it.) You can only see the reflector if you hold the flashlight right next to your eyes, so every member of the party will want their own light.

This is a family-friendly cache, suitable for young children. It takes about an hour to walk to the cache and then return to the starting point. All trails are on level ground. Part of the path may be muddy after a heavy rain.

This cache will be disabled every year from May 1 to August 15. Those days are so long that there isn't enough dark time to find the cache before the park closes at 10pm.
