It's my birthday cache, it's a full moon, and we're in the desert and spending the night at a very cool location. No neighbors to bother us, just a lot of crickets! Plan on spending some time at this location and do some exploring.
We travel in a non-4-wheel drive truck and were able to get to this location. The cache is a small can with items that might be helpful in Nevada.

Find...

Crickets galore!

I believe it's a Mormon Cricket and it must be quite the season for them. They jump and crawl on and into places as they hunt for a little moisture. Keep everything sealed up or you may have an unwanted traveler.
Is that a parrot?

Seemed like a nice way to spend the afternoon, just sit on the back porch and fly a kite. Don't forget the tail. The wind was pretty gusty in the afternoon but it settled down and was just right for kite flying.

Spoke with 5francs about this cache today. Come to find out, we did, indeed, find the spot where the cache had been hidden...looks like it's gone.

Nvh2ofowler & I were on a cache run around northwestern Nevada today, finishing up the DeLorme Challenge We arrived at GZ at 5:30 AM and commenced to searching. We found the likely hiding spot, but no joy. Hope it was because it was still dark and were searching by flashlight and not because it's missing. We did, however, see several coyotes, their eyes gleaming in our flashlight beams.

Took a drive out to Lovelock and beyond in search of page 27. What a great day wandering around the Seven Troughs mining district to visit the Vernon, Tunnel, Mazuma & Farrell camps. This place was awesome! After finding the cache we headed into town to look around. We had fun checking out the old buildings, the stamp mill and the things strewen about the area. Things are still in pretty good shape out here. We ate lunch in the shade of a big old tree and then continued on our way up to Farrell. Thanks for the most excellent geocaching adventure!
