This cache is on private property with permission, as always please Cache with respect. There is NO PARKING on Manomet Ave. or the approaching Vinal Ave, or Samoset Ave. Please use the parking coordinates provided and enjoy a stroll through the historic neighborhood.

There is currently construction going on at the listed parking coordinates, the back lot at that location is still available and only adds about 5 minutes to your trip... Use caution crossing the road.
The placement provides you with a scenic view of Cape Cod bay from the Manomet bluffs. On a clear day you can see Provincetown and Truro. Keep an eye out for harbor seals during the winter months. Small bison tube, no room for pen/pencil.
A brief history: The Idlewild house which is located at 150 Manomet Ave was once a 19th century hotel built in 1872, it was the hub of the earliest ocean-side community perched atop the breathtaking bluffs at Manomet. The private beach, one of Massachusetts best kept secrets, harkens back to a bye-gone era with its white sand, community bonfires, striper fishing in the summer and playful harbor seals and cormorants in the winter. The Idlewild has an eclectic history, with famous guests like Grover Cleveland and Nathaniel Hawthorne.
