The Cache is dedicated to the Chapel of Saint Roch in the town of Moldava nad Bodvou. Mensia small ukryta pri kaplnke v Moldave.
The Chapel
The Chaperl in honour of Saint Roch was built on a hillside in the north of the town of Moldava nad Bodvou to commemorate the victims of the cholera epidemic that broke out in the city in 1831. During the six weeks it killed 212 inhabitants. Another outbreak of cholera in 1872 called for 34 victims. The chapel was renovated in the late 90-ies of the 20th century. The altar painting shows St. Roch and the murals record the sad events of the period of the epidemic. It is open only during the pilgrimages. In memory of victims each year to the day of St. Roch a mass is served.
The Cache
