Ashley Green Walkabout is a series of thirteen caches along a
walk, just under 5 miles long, which starts in the Buckinghamshire
village of Ashley Green, crosses into Hertfordshire near
Berkhamsted, and then re-crosses back into Buckinghamshire to
finish. The terrain is hilly, but the footpaths are well defined
and navigation is easy. Good parking is available in Ashley Green
(see additional waypoint on Cache 1) and cachers may be pleased to
learn that there is a nice village pub awaiting them at the end of
the trail.
Make your way across the tussocky field towards the cache. The
field is full of horses, but you should be fine as long as you
don't smell of Polo Mints! Try not to fall down any badger holes
and due to the badgers it is especially important that you don't
leave anything in the cache which is smelly or aromatic. You
are looking for a small, cammoed cache. After finding the cache,
continue down the hill towards the gate at the bottom. Enjoy the
downhill stretch, more ascent to follow!
