This cache celebrates our summer vacations on the beaches and
hiking trails of New England. The contents have been gleaned from
the souvenir stands and geocaches we've found.
The posted co-ordinates will bring you to P13, the Blanchet
Beach parking lot. I'm afraid it's a pay parking lot in season!
There you will find the trailhead for Trail #16, the Blanchet, or
Des Loups, Trail (depending on how old your map). The information
board at the trailhead has a redirect tag on it. Those co-ordinates
will take you to a large ammo box hanging chest high in a pine
tree.
The trail is steep in places, and can be muddy after rains, but
is a very rewarding hike. If you wish you can bag Cliffy's "Des
Loups" cache (GC11CC) on the way, and if you continue the loop you
can find Griffindog's "Who Cried Wolf?" (GCHR8G) on your way
back.
Take a vacation souvenir and leave one of your own. Pack a lunch
and have a picnic on the beach afterward, you'll need it!
