This cache is near the Hannibal Light House
THE CITY OF HANNIBAL SPENT A LOT OF TIME AND MONEY RENOVATING THIS LIGHT HOUSE A FEW YEARS AGO, ONLY TO HAVE DOZENS OF INCONSIDERATE PEOPLE WRITE ALL OVER IT. TO MAKE THINGS WORSE, SOMEONE ACTUALLY TORE OFF SOME OF THE SIDING AND THREW IT DOWN THE HILL. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS NOW 24 HOUR VIDEO SURVEILLANCE OF THE LIGHT HOUSE!

THERE IS A HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE PARKING AREA WITH 2 PARKING STALLS LOCATED AT N39* 42.890 W91* 21.565 FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO CAN NOT CLIMB THE MANY STEPS LEADING UP TO IT. HOWEVER, THE CACHE ITSELF IS NOT HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE.

Hannibal is a great tourist area, especially for those interested in Mark Twain. Take some time to enjoy the shops in the downtown area while here.

To get to the cache, you can either climb a "WHOLE LOT" of stairs from the downtown riverfront area or you can drive to the parking lot which will put you within a few hundred feet of the cache site. Even then, you will have to climb 73 stairs. There is a nice view of the river from the Light House. If you're feeling energetic & decide to take the stairs from downtown, make sure you stop & do the "Tom n Huck Cache" located at N 39° 42.780 W 091° 21.480

This cache is a camo plastic jar. The original contents were:

Pen

Log

Pocket knife

Small booklet of Bible verses

Have fun and God bless!

Thanks to LC.
Been here twice before with foliage on the trees that seemed to give my Lousy Garmin fits.
I thought I'd have better luck with the leafless trees. I was wrong. Still all over, but mostly kept putting me in one spot. Narrowed my search and Voila!
A Smiley for me.

Thanks for the cache! This was a fun stop on our way to K.C. We opted out of climbing all of the steps, and drove as far as we could.
