Geocache Description:

Welcome to WWFM X. WWFM stands for World Wide Flash Mob. As the name states, this is a World Wide event being held by geocaching communities around the globe on May the 4th.

The idea of a Flash Mob is for the participants to be obscure pieces of background furniture in the general area of the event, then come out of the woodwork at the designated time for a quick get together, then disperse again soon afterwards. There is also usually a theme involved with the event.

As this will be the first weekend in our official Dry Season, we thought we could be slightly oddball and make one last use of umbrellas by all of us gathering together under a brolly at 11am on Sat May the 4th on the lawns at the Darwin Water Front (see the picture below).

Prior to 11am, secret yourself around the general area. At precisely 11am (Mr TiedyeSmileys will have his geowatch set to the telephone talking clock time) a whistle will be blown and we can all pop up our umbrellas and meet on the grass in front of the sculptures at GZ. Bright and sunny shirts (such as Hawaiian or tie-dyed) would be great as well. Colourful or decorated umbrellas would also be a treat.

There will be an Ammo Can placed in front of the sculptures at GZ. Every geocaching team are to bring a card with their team name on to place into the can. This will be the log for the event. There will be a drawing out of names for the honour of claiming FTF as well as other prizes.

After the name draw we will get together for a group photo, then all disperse in different directions. All up probably only about 5-10 minutes.

For those who want to get together after this event for a chat, we will meet up at the Fiddlers Green there at the Waterfront near GZ. Don't just go straight there though, end up there after we all split off in different directions. There are meals, snacks or drinks available or just use their chairs for free while others drink or eat : )

Parking is available at the Water Front in the under cover parking. It is free for up to 2 hours, $3 for 3 hours and $4 for 4 hours.

Hope to see as many local and visiting geocachers there that we can get and remember, May the 4th be with you!
