INDIANA SPIRIT QUEST #186

”Revolutionary Trifecta"

The weather today has been particularly cold and rainy, although we (my daughter Hit&Run and puppy Lucy)did not let that top us from hiding this very special cache. Welcome to the Danville East Cemetery, Center Township, Hendricks Co, Indiana. This is site, located in downtown Danville is rather large for being a predominately pioneer cemetery. What also makes this cemetery so great is the fact that thre are THREE Revolutionary War Veterans buried here. There are also too many Civil War Veterans here to mention. Parking is across the street in a large parking lot.

Richard Barnes was born in 1763 in Baltimore, Maryland. He served in the Virginia Contiental Line: By 1777 Virginia had raised 15 regiments of infantry and several of cavalry and artillery for service under Continental Congress authority, commonly known as the Virginia Continental Line. These regiments were rearranged several times during the war and many soldiers served in more than one unit.

Obedieth (Obediah) Turpin was born in 1761 in in Prince Edward County, Virginia. He also served in the Virginia Contiental Line.

Although there is no legible marker to be identified, Israel Hunt (born 1762 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey) is reported as being buried in this cemetery. We were able to find a large concentration of Hunt family markers at the back center of the cemetery, but nothing legible enough to identify his marker from.

The cache container is is a micro white bottle. Please leave it at least as well concealed, if not better, than you found it. If you find fallen or worn US flags at the graves of veterans, please take a moment to upright or replace them. Dispose of worn US flags in a respectable manner.    If you find the coordinates to be a little off, do not hesitate to post a waypoint with your log.  As always, be respectful, and cache in, trash out. God Bless our troops in harm's way.

WARNING:  FIND LOGS ON THIS CACHE THAT INDICATE NIGHT CACHING WILL BE DELETED WITHOUT NOTICE!
