Geocache Description:

This Cache is up the Valley View trail, It is quite a hike from the Bottom and a exhilirating ride down from the top.
You will travel through wooded terrain, grassy hills, and dense trail brush with all kinds of wildlife.
This is a great Bike Trail. You will probably want to drive up and ride down, but there are a few technical parts.
You can access the trail to hike from the bottom just accross from the Mill Creek Dam Park-Bring water.(1.75mi form bottom)

This Cache was placed for Jerry "Bikedog" Gradisher on 1-13-07 it marks the one year memorial from his early departure with us.

The Cache is in a beautiful location with great views. It is also on one of the best singletracks around Ukiah, where Bikedog will be happy riding the trails and visiting his geobuddies that stop by.

Bikedogs love for Mountain biking, motorsports and geocaching is apparent when you read his logs and check out his website Check out www.Bikedog.com. He strived to add all he could to the things that were important to him, weather it was riding with his friends and caching with his family or creating his trackable "smashed penny" to drop into caches all over.(mostly in the So. Cal. area) The Bikedog penny tracking site is Bikedog.geocoin.net where you will find the log for the penny that is in here #A7.

He loved to Geocache by bike, whatever type fit the occasion. The sports he played were even on his bike, he liked to play Bike Polo and would often finish up his day after a game or tournament with a few cache finds with some buddies or by him self. He also liked the 5 Star caches...just for fun.

Bikedog has been a member of Geocaching since Feb 20, 2001. He lived in Elfin Forest Ca. He has 520 finds and 35 Hides and is survived by his wife and 13 year old daughter.- oh and his pennies, hides, finds, friends and caches like this.

The Items in this cache are related to Bikedog, there is a bundle of items that MUST STAY IN THE CACHE, but the other items are definatley tradeable, some of the stuff in here was given to me to throw in by the owner of Dennys Bikes, he rides this trail often and took me on my first trail ride down this trail.

The TB #0JGZ4M released from this cache is a special one and must be moved ASAP - I will tell its story once it arrives safely at its destination.

We should sit and ponder once again on the appreciation of life, too often we take life for granted, Bikedog didnt, it seemed through his words and the words of the people he knew, that he lived life to the fullest...and we need to do the same-LOVE LIVING - Do all you can to love life and enjoy your short time here.

Now run off and have a great time finding this cache, Bikedogs waiting inside and wants to go for a ride-Take him for a quick lap, jump him and cruise him around for a bit (It is really quite fun-check out the tricks and take some pics)

*********While I was in San Diego for some event caches I had the pleasure of hittin up some of Bikedog caches. Amongst these caches I found one of his smashed pennies that he had placed over a year and a half prior as well as other cool swag he placed into his caches. His friends also sent me some personal items to place in here which completed the cache.
There are a few trade items that if traded must be only done so upon instructions in the log:) Also some items if traded must be highly appreciated in order to trade...Im saying that there is some special things in here that should be appreciated rather than thought of as "just swag"********
One more thing-Bikedogs webpage is up and running again his website is Bikedog.com check out some of his videos-Good music too!

The coordinates to Trail Head and parking at the bottom is N 39*07.524 W 123*07.617 The Elev. is at 1070 Ft.
The Upper trailhead for the ride down is at N39* 07.702 W123* 06.247 @ 2386 Ft. You should turn up the "North Cow Mountain" road to get to the top.
Please disregard the trash at the top, lots of people like to shoot here and do not take anything they bring in-out. Follow the little jumps they will vere right at the top. You will have to push your bike up a few hills.
The cache is located at 1740 Ft. So there is a 700Ft in Elev.climb if you are hiking from the bottom to the cache and a total Elevational change from the top is about 1300 ft. It is 1.75mi to the cache from the lower trailhead.
