Terra Firma Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Sky Schemer: Man. It really hurts to archive this one because I love it so much, but I think it's time for it to go. The cache location is in an area that ended up getting taped off by THPRD. I hope someone else takes the challenge of planting a cache elsewhere in this park, as it's one of those hidden gems that you like to share.

While the cantainer was sealing just fine, the overstuffing made that something of a chellenge and my guess is a few people didn't get the lid shut properly. Once water got in, there was nowhere for it to go. Surprisingly, the log book was in pretty good shape, even if the rest of the cash had it's share of water.

Geocache Description:

This cache will take you into The Bluffs, a small but cool little park that you probably didn't know existed. The hunt will require a tiny bit of off-trail hiking.

You are looking for a 2 quart Snapware container that has been painted black and hidden in The Bluffs, a small, forested park north of Cedar Mill. The last portion of the hunt is roughly 70 feet off of the main trail through light undergrowth and tree branches. It should be fine for dogs and older children.

There is very heavy tree cover here and GPS reception is spotty at best. I managed no better than a 25-foot EPE on my GPSr in my visits so you'll probably want to switch to the hint as you close in.

Best parking is on NW Haskell Ct at N45 32.431 W122 48.300 where you can enter via a THPRD-marked, wood chip trail that runs down into the park between two homes. Please be careful on the trail, as it is a rather steep descent.

Think small when trading. Note that the lid has two "latches" to help seal the container: press the lid on firmly and then snap them down to close.
