Sycamore Cycling Stash Series # 7: The south end of the Two Foxes Trail.
The caches in Sycamore Canyon more than a couple of miles from a trailhead are visited only every few months. They must be too far for most hikers to reach them, so I'm starting a series of caches that are on the central trails. The objectives of putting these caches are

1. To give mountain bikers some caches that are more than a few minutes from the trailhead
2. To give hikers who like long hikes some more caches
3. To provide more caches to encourage more cachers to venture into the heart of Sycamore Canynon
4. To encourage cachers to take up mountain biking to make it easier for them to get to these

Of course all cachers are encouraged to seek these out whether they arrive by bike, foot or horseback. In fact, some of these caches will be on trails that are closed to bikes so you won't be able to reach them on wheels! Also, bring some caches of your own to deploy while you're looking for these. There's plenty of room, and more deployers makes for a more interesting day of caching!

The terrain rating is high because of the distance from a trailhead. These caches are all near firm and well-travelled trails. Trailheads are listed on "Sin Nombre Crash Corner" GC1KGYR (visit link) .

Sycamore Canyon is part of the majestic Pt Mugu State Park and is immediately west of the Boney Mountain State Wilderness Area. You can find detailed maps and trail descriptions at VenturaCountyTrails.org on this page (visit link) . Print out the map and bring it with you to find the quickest way through the park.

You are looking for a camo'd plastic food container.

The Geo_Connections Sic Them Sycamores tour continues, with another FTF in 2010. Found the cache but not those elusive foxes - probably why they are called foxes. Found at 1:45 p.m.

Out caching with the Geo Connections crew and trying to beat the rain. Started out at the top of Big Sycamore Canyon Road, heading towards Sycamore Cove. Five guys, 10.25 miles, 40 caches. What a way to spend a Saturday!

Found the cache, but still looking for the "Two Foxes". SL and replaced as found. TFTC.

At first I thought this cache might be too easily spotted, but then I realized darn near everyone going by this spot would be on a bike and likely would never notice it.
