The freezing weather and the dangerous icing takes its
toll on board the Cornelia Marie. With the fierce arctic storm
continuing, the Time Bandit pushes through the ruff waters with a
limited amount of bait. Crews are getting fatigued and the pending
closure of the season pushes the men harder. With calm seas and
unusually warm weather, three days of record catches for the fleet
have crew seeing dollar signs. Captains are speculating when the
quota will be met and the season closed.
The crew of the Northwestern makes a profit at Akutan Island.
Fishing is easier for the first time this deadly season; the
Bearing Sea is calm at the moment. One captain is forced to turn
back for repairs, which is costing him money. A deckhand on board
the Wizard is badly injured causing the captain to rush back to
shore. With a storm brewing out at sea, the decision to stay or run
needs to be made.
Important note: This cache has some potential as a site of
interest to tourists (and perhaps locals as well). Since few
tourists seem to do the puzzles, my intention is to replace this
with a traditional hide with photos and history after the Puzzle
Illuminati have had their fun. So get cracking, gang, the clock is
ticking!
Not so important note: I realize this is not an Oahu-Class
Puzzle (hence only 3 stars), but it was all I could whip together
in a couple of hours, the time I could spare from my new-airplane
training. Perhaps I can get more circuitous and/or demented on a
future collaboration?
Mega-important note on cache maintenance: Team Geoblast has
graciously offered to assist. Thanks Bro!
