Geocache Description:

Cache hidden in a hole in the entry hall of the Vitanova Krstata cave in eastern Serbia. Near the top of the cliffs at the confluence of the Resava river and Stanojev stream, at an altitude od 830 m. Accessible by a rocky trail from above, a little to the south of the cave. A tough hike through the wilderness.

Follow the main unpaved road through the Resava river canyon for around 7.8 km from the ramp where pavement ends in the Lisine valley, then take a right turn onto the road that has a sign "Stanojev potok". Theoretically, you can climb right up the steep and rocky terrain to your left for about 300 m to the top, but it has extensive growth, rolling and unstable rocks and it is generally extremely difficult to reach the cave that way (although it's a very short distance). I recommend that you take the trail that starts at the slopes of Faca, the south-western edge of the Vrtacelje plateau, from a forested area at N44'03.675 E021'43.350. At first following the trail will be a little difficult because of the growth, but very soon it will become stable and well visible at an angle, slowly climbing in the direction of the Vitanova Krstata cave and the scenic point at the top of the cliff right above it (a little to the south).

To reach this trail from the unpaved road following the Stanojev stream it would be best to take the next road across the stream to the left (it has a little more growth than the main road following the Stanojev stream, but is still clearly visible, and usable, even for 4x4 vehicles).

When you reach the scenic points to the south of the cave follow the edge of the cliffs pretty closely and search for a trail leading directly to the cave (a little down, and then again steep up to the opening).

The cache is placed in a cillyndrical box with a Garmin sticker on it, and is situated in the entrance part of the cave, in a clearly visible hole in the wall a little to the left of the channel leading deeper into the cave.
