Short walk on trail and then short hillclimb to cache. Take trail behind restroom to backside of hill. Enjoy the views!
We had a banner day in early June 2009 when we took this road for the very first time. We saw a deer (along Hwy126), two coyotes and a mountain lion cub (along this road). We decided to come back and place caches in honor of all the wildlife found in the area. And, when we came back to place the caches we actually saw a condor! Though we did not see him from this site (we saw him when placing our Piranha cache), this seemed like the most suitable site to pay tribute to the Sespe Condor Sanctuary.

Sespe is the largest wilderness area in the Los Padres National Forest. Chaparral is the primary vegetation. Wildlife abounds, including bear, mountain lion, deer, coyote, and many types of birds. Views of the Pine Mountain Ridge are outstanding from this vantage point.

Maybe you will see a condor too!

Found in a boys' day out afternoon of caching with Djmlp4. We started at Sespe Shell and worked our way back to the 126. TFTC! No condors spotted today. (removed the benches comment because that was actually the other little trail on the other side of Dough Flat...there was a condor viewing identification plaque at that one).

After hiking the Tar Creek Trail, we decided to see how many of the caches along Squaw Flat Road we could find before dark. This was the first of that series for us. Thanks for bringing us here - TFTC!

I was halfway to the top of the slippery hill when I heard that the cache was found. Thanks for the hide.
