The Vernon Malone College and Career Academy is a collaborative endeavor between the Wake County Public School System, Wake Technical Community College and Wake County Government.
Through an academic foundation, paired with career-informed courses and work-based learning experiences, graduates of the Vernon Malone CCA will be prepared to continue on to a four-year university, or apply their earned credits towards an AAS degree, certificate or diploma program at Wake Technical Community College.
In Memory of Vernon Malone (December 20, 1931 – April 18, 2009) was a Democratic member of the North Carolina General Assembly representing the state's fourteenth Senate district from 2003 until his death in 2009. His district included constituents in Wake County. A retired teacher and educational administrator from Raleigh, Malone was a graduate of Shaw University and held public offices in Wake County for over three decades.
