This location is one of the most popular sites for radio controlled slope soaring on the east coast. The combination of the steep treeless hill facing into the prevailing North-west wind and the Susquehanna river just upwind, makes for a large, smooth band of lift that makes it possible to toss a radio controlled glider off the bluff and fly for hours. Most windy weekend afternoons the air above the bluff is filled with miniature gliders, along with many soaring birds.
