I've been meaning to place a cache here pretty much since I started geocaching and finally got around to it.
I didn't include this as part of my "By Boat or By Boot" series because the cache is about a 10-15 minute walk from the reservoir, but we paddled in to place it.
Hiking access is directly via the Split Rock Loop Trail which is accessed from Split Rock Rd. There may also be access from the north end of the reservoir via a woods road that begins just before the Boy Scout camp, but I've never come in that way so no guarantees.The Boy Scout camp is off limits, so do not attempt access via the camp, unless of course you're a camper there..
For a full day of caching take the entire 10 mile loop around Split Rock and pick up numerous caches along the way.
