Landschaftlich reizvolle und lehrreiche Wanderung zu Fuß oder per
Fahrrad für die ganze Familie!
Heute möchte ich Euch einladen zu unserem ersten eigenen Geocache durch die Wälder Böfingens. Seit ich im Juli 2004 diesen Cache gelegt habe, hat sich einiges im Wald verändert, sodaß ich im Februar 2006 eine aktualisierte Version gebastelt habe. Bei der Gelegenheit habe ich alle Koordinaten noch einmal genauer vermessen.
Im Sommer bleibt der Satellitenempfang jedoch teilweise problematisch. Die gesamte Strecke ist ca. 5 km lang und mit normalem Schuhwerk gut zu bewältigen.
Auch junge Eltern können sich freuen: Die komplette Strecke ist kinderwagentauglich.
Lehrreich geht es auch zu durch viele Lehrtafeln. Unterwegs sorgt ein schöner Spielplatz für Abwechslung. Grundsätzlich ist die Strecke auch per Fahrrad zu bewältigen, wenngleich kurze Passagen wohl geschoben werden müssen – auch wegen eines gewissen Höhenunterschiedes.
Im Frühling duftet der Wald wunderbar nach Bärlauch. Im Sommer achtet auf die zahlreichen Weinberg- und Nacktschnecken auf den Wegen. Im Winter liegt eine langgezogene Rodelabfahrt am Wegesrand.
Wer auch die interessanten Lehrtafeln bewusst studieren möchte, sollte schon ein wenig mehr Zeit mitbringen und wetterabhängig einen kleinen Getränkevorrat.

Geparkt werden kann bei N 48° 25.255 und E 010° 01.161. Hier findet sich ein Übersichtsplan des Gebietes.
1. Wie viele Parkplatzsymbole (__ = A) sind insgesamt auf der Karte (inklusive Legende) zu sehen?
2. Betrachtet rechts unten auf dem Schild die Beschreibung der 2,0 km-Runde, die am Parkplatz Böfingen startet und verwendet die 3 davor stehenden Ziffern als BCD = __ __ __.
3. Geht nun zu N 48° 25.B0(C+D) und E 010° 01.BCD.Der Lokführer bekommt in Sichtweite die Streckenkilometerangabe und Ihr notiert die oben stehende Zahl als EF = __ __.
4. Weiter geht´s zu N 48° 25.B(F+D)0 und E 010° 01.AAD. Auch bei schlechtem Wetter könnt Ihr hier Unterschlupf suchen. Bei gutem Wetter gibt´s Alpenblick! Die Anzahl der Stützstreben des Daches ergibt G = __.
5. Bei N 48° 25.AE(A+C) und E 010° 01.BGD überquert ihr einen steinigen Bachlauf. Wie viele Löcher hat die erste Staustufe bachaufwärts? __ = H
6. Nun aber weiter zu N 48° 25.A(G-D)(B-C) und E 010° 01.E3(H+C). Das Informationsschild zum deutschen Baum trägt eine Ordnungsnummer __ __ = I K.
7. An einem Pfahl bei N 48° 2H.FIC und E 010° 02.(H-I)(H+I)A findet Ihr zwei kleine Schildchen. Sie zeigen geometrische Formen in roter Farbe. Addiert die Anzahl der Ecken der beiden Formen und Ihr erhaltet N = __.
8. Wie viele öffentliche Telefonzellen sind unterhalb des Baumes installiert? Nicht verwirren lassen! __ = O
9. Nun geht´s bis zu N 48° 2H.F(I+D)(N+I) und E 010° 02.CBI. Ganz schön alt das kleine Mauerwerk. Das Baujahr wird notiert: 1 __ __ __ = P Q R.
10. Noch ein paar Meter und schon seid Ihr bei N 48° 2H.NPQ und E 010° 0Q.KNB. Wie viele Seiten hat der Grundriss? __ = S.
11. Die Sehtest-Station: Bei N 48° 25.GOI und E 010° 01.NSB steht Ihr am Rande eines Feldes mit Blick auf drei Hochhäuser. Südlich der Triple-Towers steht ein pyramidenförmiger Kirchturm. Wie viele waagerechte, schlitzförmige Fenster seht Ihr? Sind es 12, 9 oder 6? __ = T.
12. Über das Feld, 2 Bäume nach rechts und zum obersten Mülltonnenbehälter bei N 48° 2A.POI und E 010° 0Q.NER. Die grössere der beiden Nummern auf dem Strassenschild darüber? __ __ = U V.
13. Besonders wer mit Kindern unterwegs ist, kann bei N 48° 25.POR und E 010° 01.SOP entspannen.
14. Danach geht Ihr weiter bis zu einem Findling bei N 48° 25.KIN und E 010° 0C.VOP. Schätzt die Höhe des Felsens: Beträgt die Höhe 1 Meter, 2 Meter oder eher 3 Meter. Addiert zu Eurer Schätzung E und Ihr erhaltet W = __.
15. An der Kreuzung bei N 48° 25.WSW und E 010° 01.BRU gibt es meistens Tiere zu bestaunen. Hier biegt Ihr ab, um zu N 48° 25.WUI und E 010° 01.VSQ zu gelangen. Eine Bank lädt zum Beobachten der zahlreichen Freizeitsportler sowohl im Sommer als auch im Winter ein. Aus wie vielen Richtungen können die Sportler hier eintreffen? X = __
16. Ihr erinnert Euch: Schon einmal haben wir einen steinigen Bachlauf überwinden müssen. Auf dem Rückweg wiederholen wir diese Prozedur bei N 48° 25.VPO und E 010° 01.UTQ. Wiederum werden Löcher in den Staustufen gezählt. Diesmal werden die Löcher in den ersten beiden Stufen bachaufwärts gezählt. Y = __
17. Cacheposition: N 48° 2V.(X-I)KG und E 010° 0D.QWY Habt Ihr den « Schatz » gefunden, so verewigt Euch bitte nicht nur im Logbuch, sondern knipst auch ein Erinnerungsfoto mit der beiliegenden Cache-Camera. Diese wurde im Februar 2006 erstmals und im Herbst 2007 zuletzt erneuert.
English version: Today I would like to invite you on a 5 kilometre walk into the beautiful woods of Böfingen. Regular shoes will do. This tour can also be done with a pram or by bike. Educational displays give further information about the various types of trees along the trails. Children may enjoy a well equipped playground along the tour. In spring you will notice the Bärlauch odour which reminds of garlic. Watch your steps in order to spare the countless snails on the trails. I hope you enjoy my first own geocache! 2. Have a look onto the lower right quadrant of the map. You will see a description of a 2 km trail that starts at the parking lot in Böfingen. Use the three preceeding letters as BCD = __ __ __.
3. Now move towards N 48° 25.B0(C+D) und E 010° 01.BCD. The trainman will see a sign that shows him his position. Please note the upper two numbers: EF = __ __. By the way - on the other side of the road you can watch the river Donau throw itself an artificial waterfall.
4. Let´s go to N 48° 25.B(F+D)0 und E 010° 01.AAD. Even with bad weather you would be well hooded here. Please count the numbers of arms holding the roof. G = __.
5. At N 48° 25.AE(A+C) und E 010° 01.BGD you cross a stony river. Have a look at the first step in the upwards direction. How many holes does it bear? __ = H
6. After that you may walk on to the position N 48° 25.A(G-D)(B-C) und E 010° 01.E3(H+C). This sign provides information about the tree that is said to be typical german. You should now note the number of this sign: __ __ = I K.
7. At N 48° 2H.FIC und E 010° 02.(H-I)(H+I)A you will find a post with two small signs. They show geometrical forms in red colour. Please count the number of corners of both geometrical forms and you´ll have N = __.
8. How many telephone-boxes do you see below the sign? Don´t get confused! ;-) __ = O
9. After that you turn to N 48° 2H.F(I+D)(N+I) und E 010° 02.CBI. The small building is quite old. You can see the erection year on a plate on top of the building. Please note the year: 1 __ __ __ = P Q R.
10. Only a few meters and you will arrive at N 48° 2H.NPQ und E 010° 0Q.KNB. How many sides does the floor consist of? __ = S.
11. At N 48° 25.GOI und E 010° 01.NSB you stand at the edge of an open field that allows a view onto three scyscrapers. Just left from these you see a church tower formed in a pyramid shape. How many horizontal slim windows do you count? 6, 9 or even 12? __ = T.
12. After that you may cross the field, go two trees to the right and go to the upper waist paper container at N 48° 2A.POI und E 010° 0Q.NER. Note the higher number on the street sign above the containers! __ __ = U V.
13. Children will enjoy a break at position 48° 25.POR und E 010° 01.SOP and you may relax from the challenging walk.
14. After that you go to a large rock at N 48° 25.KIN und E 010° 0C.VOP. Please estimate the height of the rock: Is it 1 meter, 2 meters or rather 3 meters. Add E to your estimation and you have W = __.
15. At N 48° 25.WSW und E 010° 01.BRU you will find a crossing where you may see some beautiful animals. Here I would like you to turn to N 48° 25.WUI und E 010° 01.VSQ. There you can take a rest and watch many joggers and walkers. How many directions lead to this crossing? X = __
16. Do you remeber: Once ago we had to cross a stony river. On our way back we have to repeat this procedure at N 48° 25.VPO und E 010° 01.UTQ. Once again I want you to count the holes in the steps. This time you should count the holes in the first two steps in the upwards direction. Y = __
17. Position of the cache: N 48° 2V.(X-I)KG und E 010° 0D.QWY Having found the cache I would like to ask you to sign my logbook and moreover take a shot using the enclosed cache-cam! No need to tell you that the camera should be left inside the box and not be traded!
