Geocache Description:

The coords above are not the coords to the final. They do take you to parking and a great place for a picnic! Enjoy!

Do you remember “The Good Old Days” when things seemed so much simpler and although times were tough, everyone seemed happier. No one really knew they were broke because everyone was broke. I myself just caught the tail end of this era but I do remember when……

• Decisions were made by going "eeny-meeny-miney-moe"?

• Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming, "Do Over"?

• Catching fireflies could happily occupy an entire evening?

• It wasn't odd to have two or three "Best Friends"?

• The worst thing you could catch from the opposite sex was “cooties"?

• Every boy had a scout knife in his pocket during school and not one ever thought to use it as a weapon.

• Spinning around, getting dizzy, and falling down was cause for giggles?

• War was a card game?

• Your TV had to warm up for a few minutes before is worked correctly.

• Baseball cards in the spokes transformed any bike into a motorcycle?

• Taking drugs meant orange-flavored chewable aspirin?

Do YOU remember?

It seemed all of the challenges of life were distributed on a dare system administered by your friends and foe BUT, selectively issued. This was because the dare system was not to be ignored and was taken very seriously indeed. Here is how I remember the dare system but there may be variations of it:

1. “I Dare You” - A fairly common request that was disregarded with a simple “pass”.

2. “I Double Dare You” - This overrode the “pass” and was something that now needed serious consideration and contemplation.

3. “I Double Dog Dare You” - Now you had little choice, you either did it or you were called “chicken” and it took days to regain your status among the group. Usually a done deal.

4. “I Triple Dare You” - Seldom would you walk away from this dare level. If you were triple dared you had better make a quick decision to gain some new friends or go through with it.

And the crème de la crème - the mother of all dares….
5. “I Triple Dog Dare You” - There was no walking away and the dare had to be met. You simply could not turn it down period!

What the dare system did was give kids some time to cool down and think about it. It made some kids heroes and others zeros but neither for too long. Before you knew it all was forgotten with a “Do Over” and the dispute was settled by a game of War. Then you would warm up the TV and watch a riveting episode of Lassie! And, you and your 3 best friends would just move on…...

This is a fun and easy cache that will “Doubly Challenge” you in order to find the final cache container.

First you must figure out the challenge on this cache page which we will call puzzle number one. Then you will need to work the “apparatus” effectively at stage two to gain the coords for the final.

The cache is located at the Seven Tubs Nature Area so bring your camera. The walk is not long at all and the whole time allotted from front to back should be about an hour depending on how much exploring you do OR if the apparatus is not kind to you. There are also other caches near by as well so you might want to make an afternoon of it.

And I Double Dog Dare You To Do It!

Here is the puzzle to complete as part one. If you need a clue feel free to email me. Good Luck!
