Though there are many islands in Lake Nokomis, this one is likely the farthest you'll travel to from most of the popular boat landings on Lake Nokomis. The island is very small, and should be a quick find.
The water levels can also make this easier or harder. It should always be available via canoe or kayak, but other boats may prove difficult with low water level. This cache was placed on Memorial Day, 2011 when the water level was 0.2 feet below max (meaning you have to duck when going below bridges--the lake was full!). I used my wave runner to run out and place this in the rainy morning.
The container is a small clear plastic container, just big enough for travel bugs.
Be sure to check out the other Lake Nokomis caches. Love to hear the stories of finding these!
