This cache is on a 36 acre parcel identified with trail signage as
"Orchard Park recreational property" in the Town, just outside the
Village. I found this area while running errands during lunch hour,
while attempting to cut through from Taylor Rd. to Rt. 20A. I
turned down Imperial Drive, and OOOOPS! Dead end, but look at the
nice woods with trails! I went back to work, and quickly looked up
on the Erie County Internet mapping system that what I found was
town land.
Parking Coordinates are N 42° 46.105' W 078° 45.287'. But
since this is a dead-end street (Imperial Drive), you should really
try to park elsewhere in the neighborhood, and walk to the
dead-end, to avoid an endless stream of strangers parking in front
of the same house, and entering the trails. This is an easy walk on
well defined trail, less than .20 miles from the parking
coordinates. But you will have to deal with some downed limbs on
the trail, and about 50 feet of relatively heavy bushwacking,
complete with some sticker bushes. Stay on the trail until
absolutely necessary to bushwack.
This is a winter accessable cache that will be removed and
archived six months after placement (Mid-May 2006). My intention
here is to introduce cachers to the area, and to place the
Starter Bug Travel Bug whose goal is to forever be the FTF
prize in brand new caches.
