High clearance vehicle required for road in. Take a right on Golder Ranch Road off Highway 77(Oracle Rd.) You can also park along the way somewhere and hike or bike in on a trail that parallels the road.
All mileages are from Oracle Rd. Turn left when pavement ends after first cattleguard(1.9) Go to horse corral(2.4) Go right downhill then veer right to second cattleguard(3.2) Keep going downhill until you hit the Sutherland Wash(3.4)
This is a beautiful place for a picnic and there is a swing over the wash for the kids. Take the path out of the wash at Santa's Rock, a short distance uphill. Don't forget your State Land Permit while travelling on these trails. Information about permit can be obtained at www.land.state.az.us.
This was the first cache we ever hid(over a year ago), and we appreciate everyone's input. We replaced the cache today with a really cool medical ammo box that should be more watertight than the original clear plastic container. We put a new Safari logbook and a disposable camera in. There are still lots of goodies from the old cache and some new, including a red Hummer, gel-coat and stuff we all added at our annual Christmas picnic. Thanks to all the kids(including the one that fell into the cactus) that helped us re-find and replace the cache.
