We are hiding 10 caches for our 10 grandchildren. This one is for Layah. There was a contest at school to name this statue. She was a winner with the name, Burnie Flames and had the honor of riding on one of the firetrucks to school. Please take a moment to think of those who risk their lives everyday to keep us safe and when you see them, offer them your thanks.
This is an I-Beam from the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. On 9/11/01 the Twin Towers and the United States came under attack from terrorists. On that day, the Twin Towers fell. Taking with them 2,606 Americans, of that number, 343 were firefighters, 37 port authority PD, 23 NYPD and 15 EMT's. Let this humble piece of steel stand as a reminder of all who perished that day, especially those who rushed to the aid of others and made the ultimate sacrifice.
