Cribarth Clamber Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Lactodorum: Hi, this looks suspiciously like the cache has gone. Could the owner please undertake a maintenance visit to check if it's there or not. In the meantime I'm archiving it but I'll happily unarchive it if/when it's found assuming it still meets the guidelines.

Thanks, Lactodorum

Geocache Description:

Near the Trig Point on Cribarth

CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE REPLACE THIS CACHE AND INFORM ME OF THE NEW CO-ORDS IF THEY FEEL IT SHOULD BE MOVED BY A FEW METERS.

Cribarth lies just above the small village of Craig y Nos (the Rock of the Night) which is famous as the late 19th century home of the greatest singer of her day - the Spanish diva Adela Juana Maria Patti. The grounds of the castle are open to the public. The large conservatory she built at the castle was subsequently donated to the city of Swansea and is now the Patti Pavilion.

The walk affords superb views of the castle and much of the Upper Swansea valley and climbs to the interesting, quarried summit of Cribarth (423m).

Park at the layby on the A4067 located at N51 49.416 W003 40.976 and leave the layby by the entrance furthest from the castle, cross the road, go through a gap in the wall, go over a double stile and then a little bit later follow the sign 'To Open Hill'.

The cache is located near to the trig point. You can return the same way or by several other routes but if you do this then make sure you take a map with you.
