Geocache Description:

This cache can be done in conjunction with ‘Monster Boot Camp’ (GCY5BD) and ‘Monster from the Black Lagoon’ (GCY5BH) , both of which are training missions to prepare you for the perils of ‘What’s that coming over the hill’. All three share the same parking spot (N51 21.883 W002 45.241 – Note that the tarmac road becomes private just beyond this point except as a bridleway or public footpath)

There is absolutely no requirement to enter the woods alongside this bridleway/public footpath, nor is there any need to climb any fences, all of these stages are within the confines of the bridleway/public footpath.
Please do not use 'beaters' to hack away at the vegetation around these cache locations.
NO STAGE of this cache is hidden in or at the base of stone walls or fallen/partial walls. Please respect all stone walls in the area.

Introduction

It is rumoured that somewhere near the above co-ordinates, there lurks a number of monsters so fierce that their roar has been heard many miles away. These monsters seek human flesh and are never satisfied until their stomach’s are full of human kind when they fly off in triumph and celebration.
Do you dare enter their world ? Do you dare to creep under their very noses and steal from their lair ?
This cache will show you the way to their world, it will sneak you in, show you their feeding ground and watering hole and then enable you to steal their valuables before retreating to the safety of your vehicle which you must not bring any closer than N51 21.883 W002 45.241. Because of the size of these beasts, this adventure is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs. It should be noted that some parts of the journey take the adventurer very close to these monsters and extreme care should be taken not to tread in anything that resembles a puddle or appears to be steaming – to this end, walking boots or Wellingtons are recommended.

Stage 1 (Nano)

This first stage is relatively safe and could be attempted by all.

Stage 2 (Micro)

This stage is the final stage anyone should attempt if they are not the most intrepid of adventurers. Beyond this point there are many hidden dangers.
Extra clue - take the co-ordinates for stage 2 as being N 51° AB.CDE W002° FG.HIJ. You can now Phone-A-Friend (PAF) on 07768 E1H1D1. This will reduce the difficulty to a 3 !

Stage 3 (Micro)

On the way to stage 3 you will be taken past the monsters watering hole. Your own safety is dependant on your ability to approach this area stealthily. You may see some of the monsters taking off in exaltation, their under belly’s full of human victims being taken to Ibifa. If you are extremely fortunate, you may see the monster herd elders. These will be wearing war paint (Orange) and will carry the markings of the great god ‘Stelios’. If you are successful in reaching stage 3, you will have earned the right to continue. If you are not successful in reaching stage 3, you will never be heard of again…

Stage 4 (Micro)

This penultimate stage is right under the monsters noses. But be very careful, you cannot afford to make a mistake here or you will end up in the Deep end of the swamp where there is no escape. Such is the size of these monsters, we have found it very difficult to get accurate GPS readings here, many men have been lost trying to get an accurate fix.

Final stage (Regular)

This was the hiding place for the monster’s most prized possession – Tupperware. Over the years the monsters have been robbed until now there is but one box left and the monsters guard it day and night – if you hear the roar of the monsters, run for your lives…

This journey is 4 miles car door to car door and the terrain is rocky in places, muddy in others and certainly undulating.
