A good pull off and a good place for a cache.When I was growing up, my Mother manned the fire tower that was across the road. I would join her to keep from staying home along.The state patrol would hide here to catch speeder's, I watched and tryed to guess which cars he would catch, I got pretty good at picking out the speeders
U.S. HYW 301 was`the main route for people traveling from North to South in the fifty's and sixty's.There was numerous motels and gas stations along the way. With the completion of I-95 the traffic moved and now most of the old motels and gas stations are closed and have been torn down, the traffic is now mostly local.
