Anyone who hunts caches in
this area quickly encounters the handle "
Debiko". Her name is associated with almost every cache in the
area, be it one she has placed, or one she has found. Not so
coincidentally, the number of caches she has placed usually equals
the number of her FTFs (both numbers continue to climb). Her
example has provided the local caching community with
Debiko's unwritten rule: Whoever FTFs must also then
place a cache.
Not only has Debiko been a leader by this example, but she has
also contributed in many ways to the local scene by mentoring
others, encouraging "newbies", providing critiques for cache
improvement, placing a variety and great number of caches, and
simply by being a forceful advocate for this obsession we call
geocaching. Simply put, it is impossible to overstate the
contribution she has made. For this, we, the Geocachers of
South Eastern Washington, aka GCSEWA, place this cache as
a tribute to her efforts and in recognition of all she has
done. We have all benefited from her contributions and she has
supplied us with many good caches and just as much fun.
We are grateful - thank you, Debiko.
We hope this cache reflects some of the things we have learned
about Debiko:
- she likes wine - the cache is near 3 wineries,
- she prefers ammo cans over micros - the container is an ammo
can,
- she likes to "hike" to a cache - the cache is a comfortable
distance,
- she likes to place caches near newly planted ones - there is
ample space to expand,
- she likes photography - nature provides some opportunity,
- she likes cheat grass - a small amount is provided,
- she likes "swag" - treasures abound, and, finally, she likes
FTFs - no guarantee there ! (Good luck, Debiko).

Trail Hint: When approaching the cache, to avoid creating
a geotrail, and also to avoid a steep scramble, you may wish to
leave the bikepath when you reach a large, trailside boulder. You
may then follow a game trail to the treasure.
